DDGJ is a prominent Criminal Defence Law Firm Located in Edmonton Alberta. Our lawyers have unparalleled experience, over 130 years of combined practice, appearing in all levels of courts throughout Western Canada, Northern Canada, and the Supreme Court of Canada. Outside of the office our lawyers are actively involved in the community sitting on various Boards of Directors, volunteering with charitable organizations, assisting the low-income community, providing mentorship to junior members of the legal community, presenting at seminars, and teaching as sessional instructors at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law.

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking students with a demonstrated interest in Criminal Law and working with marginalized populations. Successful applicants will typically have both strong academic writing and research skills, and oral advocacy skills. We are looking for motivated students who can work independently and within a team. In the past we have accepted both clerking and non-clerking students.   • A cover letter;
  • A resume or curriculum vitae;
  • Undergraduate and law school transcripts;
  • A writing sample, no more than 20 double spaced pages in length; and
  • No more than 4 reference letters

Applications will be accepted until 4:00 pm on May 17, 2024. Candidates who have been selected for an interview will be contacted no later than 4:00pm on May 24, 2024 to schedule an interview. Interviews will be held during the week of June 3 to 7, 2024 in accordance with the Law Society of Alberta requirements.
