During law school, Courtney was deeply involved in Student Legal Services, where she witnessed the profound impact that defending those charged with criminal or quasi-criminal offences can have. Courtney was involved in Student Legal Services during all three years of law school —first as a caseworker, then as a day leader, and finally as a Criminal Project coordinator. Her experience with Student Legal Services solidified her resolve to pursue a career as a criminal defence lawyer.
Courtney excelled academically alongside her avid volunteerism, culminating in earning her place on the Dean’s list in her first and second years of law school. Courtney focused her studies on criminal law while in law school, including completing courses in Advanced Criminal Trial Advocacy, Advanced Evidence, Advanced Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Sentencing. Courtney’s efforts culminated in various academic and community service awards in law school, including the Criminal Trial Lawyer’s Association Prize in Evidence and the Aloneissi-Gower Pro Bono Community Service Award.
Courtney staunchly believes in the presumption of innocence and is a fearless and zealous advocate for her clients. Courtney can be contacted by calling either our Edmonton or Fort McMurray offices or by emailing her at [email protected].
